My Story
Hello, I’m Cheryl
I bring over 20 years of experience in business operations, spanning global corporations, dynamic start-ups, and over a decade in the UK charity sector. I’ve held senior leadership roles including CEO, COO, Director of Strategy & Development, and Director of Operations. Building resilient organisations, strengthening governance, and driving operational excellence for long-term impact. I’ve led major transformations, overseen complex financial and risk management, and helped align strategy with mission, always with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
Today, I offer flexible leadership support to organisations navigating operational challenges, strategic planning, and sustainable growth - helping CEOs, Boards, and senior teams enhance decision-making, efficiency, and impact.
But my leadership story has a plot twist. True resilience demands self-acceptance, compassion, balance, and change - lessons I learned the hard way. Like many charity leaders, I spent years pushing through crisis after crisis while side-lining my wellbeing. Until a sudden, unexplained illness derailed my career. Eight months into a new CEO role, I completely crashed and eventually stepped down, realising I needed rest and support more than I knew.
After a short recovery and return to work, my symptoms worsened dramatically. Following months of uncertainty, it transpired that what I had experienced was an early Multiple Sclerosis episode. This forced a profound reset - a shift in mindset, a redefinition of success, and a deep understanding that chronic illness doesn't diminish leadership; it just reshapes it.
Today, I combine my leadership and operational expertise with a deeply empathetic approach to support other leaders through my writing, frameworks, and resources. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I have walked this path before and together, we can create a sustainable way forward; one that honours both your ambition and your wellbeing.
